Beyoncé makes a surprise appearance at her daughter Blue Ivy’s annual school gala, performing a number of hits, including a daring Whitney Houston cover that’ll send chills up your spine.
Going to school, then getting schooled by Beyoncé blowing our minds with a free concert… it’s not too good to be true, because that was a thing that actually happened.
Many lucky fans were graced with the soulful sass of Queen Bey over the weekend when she performed a entire set during the 75th Anniversary Gala of The Center for Early Education in Los Angeles on Saturday. Beyoncé, who donned a sparkly gold-sequined zebra dress, performed many of her own hits, like “Crazy In Love” and “XO”, but it wasn’t until she hit the mother lode of all covers, performing Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” that pretty much blew the audience’s socks off. Take a look:
After she asked the audience to sing along with her to the iconic ballad, she then got them pumped up with “Crazy In Love”, complete with all those music video dance moves we know and love.
She kept the crowd on their feet with an upbeat version of “XO”, and you can only guess how perfect she sounded, because DUH, she’s BEYONCE.
The crowd was filled with students and parents from the prestigious school where Beyoncé and Jay Z’s daughter Blue Ivy, attends, which contains students from preschool to 6th grade, and has been named a "socio-economically and culturally diverse independent school for children."
So if we had to guess, I’d say that Blue’s classmates will never forget last weekend, and that Blue herself is one proud daughter, because it has officially been confirmed that Beyonce is most definitely not like a regular mom…
