according to CNN's delegate and superdelegate count, June 7th, 2016 will go down in history, as Hillary Clinton clinched the Democratic presidential nomination, and will become the first to lead the presidential ticket of a major political party. And of course, celebrities had something to say about it!
After victories in the California, New Jersey and New Mexico primaries last night, Hillary Clinton claimed the Democratic presidential nomination. While people all over the country shared their opinions on social media, stars, thyere just like us! SO let’s see what they had to say!
Lady Gaga showed support for the former first lady, senator from New York and secretary of state, last night on Twitter and Instagram.writing , “#HILLARY2016 Nothing can keep a strong woman down. VOTE for the first female US president in history. Shake it up America, this country needs a little rock n’ roll.”
Katy Perry thanked Clinton writing, “A lot of little girls are in bed right now dreaming for the first time, without limits. You broke the mold @HillaryClinton.”
Ellen also shared her thoughts on CLinton’s big win last night by saying, “I’ve never been prouder to have a woman card.”
John Legend also extended his congratulations to the pantsuit aficionado by simply tweeting, “Congratulations to @HillaryClinton on her historic win!”
Other celebs like Josh Gad and Anne Hathaway, recognized the historic night. Josh tweeted, “Regardless of where you stand politically, tonight is a very special night for women in this country. 240 years later, it’s about time.” While Anne shared a photo of Hillary on her Instagram page and simply said, “Whoever you support, history just got made.”
Like Josh gad said, 240 years later, it’s about time. Regardless of your political affiliations, Clinton is a feminist icon and by securing the democratic nomination she is within reach of breaking through the “highest, hardest glass ceiling”. what are your thoughts on all of this?
