Celebrities Support Charleston After Tragic Shooting

Hollywood is in mourning alongside the city of Charleston today after a deadly shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Church on Wednesday that claimed the lives of nine innocent victims who were holding a prayer meeting inside the house of worship at the time of the attack.

While the suspect in this horrific case has been captured and is in custody, the outpouring of prayers and support for those affected by this tragedy continue to come in.
Actress Kerry Washington shared this message on twitter “Prayers for #Charleston,” which was echoed in this posting from Chris Pratt who said he was “praying” for the Charleston Shooting. Taylor Swift, like so many throughout this country, noted that her heart “dropped to the floor” when she heard the news, calling it an “unbearable loss of lives and innocence.” John Legend posted “Charleston. My heart hurts,” and Darren Kriss wrote “My heart is so broken by the senselessness of the Charleston shooting. Sending thoughts and prayers. Hatred cannot and will not prevail.”
Today, President Barack Obama spoke to the nation to express his “deep sorrow” over this tragedy.
