Hold the presses -- Claire Holt is leaving the Originals? Rebekah is done on the show? This can't be true! But...from what we hear, it is. Now, I don't know about you guys, but I definitely DID NOT see this coming, and to be honest, I'm really sad about it. First off, Rebekah is such a great character and let's face it, she's an integral part of the show's plot (or at least she has been so far), and secondly, Claire Holt is one of the sweetest, most talented people out there. But, according to various sources and trusted media outlets, Claire, who plays the only living female original vampire, is out. In last night's episode, titled "Farewell to Storyville," we finally saw Klaus let his sister go, as in literally let her go, as she drove away in a red convertible with her hair blowing in the wind behind her. Truth be told, we've seen characters make dramatic exits like this in the past on many shows ONLY to quickly return again. But, we can confirm this exit was a real one. Claire will no longer be a series regular on "The Originals," but our sources tell us the door is definitely open for her character to return and for CLarie to be a guest star in future recurring arcs -- aka we could see in her multiple episodes back-to-back . And she could potentially return as early as sometime later this year, although that is not confirmed. If not this season, then next season. As you guys can tell, this news is definitely shocking for me, which leads me to believe that is probably is for you, too. Back when Claire Holt first appeared on the Vampire Diaries, she was only meant to stick around for a 3-episode arc, but she and her character were such a hit, she ultimately became the female lead on "The Originals," which FYI has already been picked up for a second season. According to a source via Buzzfeed, Claire QUOTE "never intended to play Rebekah for as long as she did," so maybe she was personally ready to move on and pursue other projects. I've chatted with Claire many times -- she's a really great person and we all wish her tons of success. And from the looks of things in the twitterverse, her cast is supporting her too. Joseph Morgan, who plays Klaus, tweeted out: Really wonderful work by @MissClaireHolt in tonight's The Originals. Very proud." AND Leah Pipes, who plays Cami, tweeted Claire to say "Amazing episode beautiful girl:)" So obviously Claire's cast is totally behind her, and even Julie Plec, the Originals executive producer hit twitter to let us know we don't know how it's all going to end...which leads us to wonder if this is all a hoax. Maybe that's just my wishful thinking. Isn't this why we love shows like the Originals --you just never know what's going to happen. Guys -- remember how Vicki and Anna returned to TVD as ghosts? That said, the lesson here should be -- never say never. But now it's time to hear from you guys --- wipe those tears away and let me know if you're as shocked by this news as I am AND what do you think is going to happen now that Rebekah is gone AND who is Marcel going to date? Give us your thoughts, emotions, hysterical crying, whatever down in the comments section and click here to check out my on-set interview with Claire Holt in Atlanta -- I'm Joslyn Davis at Clevver headquarters, thanks for watching and we'll see you next time!
