The Originals Star Claire Holt Files For Divorce Just Before 1st Anniversary

Anniversaries are usually an exciting time for a couple, but Claire Holt and her husband have decided to split rather that celebrate one year married.
According to E! News, Claire’s Matthew Kaplan was the one who filed the divorce papers, just one day before their wedding anniversary, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. Claire has just responded to the filing through her attorney a week later, also citing irreconcilable differences.
The couple got engaged back in 2015, and Claire celebrated the engagement with friends like Mandy Moore. The pair got married in 2016 in a private ceremony. While neither Claire nor Matthew have released a statement or commented on the split, social media shows that Matthew’s most recent post about Claire congratulated her for being cast in an ABC pilot, meanwhile Claire’s been posting more pics with friends and family sans her husband as of late. We certainly wish them both a smooth and drama-free conscious uncoupling.
On a bit of a brighter note when it comes to real life relationships off the set of The Originals and Vampire Diaries, Paul Wesley and Phoebe Tonkins are officially back together. The two actors had dated for four years before splitting at the beginning of this year, but rumors have been swirling that they’ve gotten back together after being spotted at a number of outings, and their most recent one at the Grove showed the couple holding hands. Obviously there’s no clearer sign that a couple is back on, so congrats to those two and we really hope they stay together because they’re so damn attractive it hurts.
