A woman named Mandy Harvey wowed Simon Cowell on America’s Got Talent last night with an original song that led Simon to send her straight to the live show. And get this, she’s deaf.
Mandy lost her hearing when she was 18 which led her to let go of music, but since then she has chosen to overcome her obstacles.
Usually when people are deaf, they have difficulty speaking clearly because they can’t hear what they sound like. Well that’s not the case for Mandy. Not only does she speak with complete clarity, she sings like an angel. There was not a dry eye in the house when Mandy told her story saying that she lost her hearing when she was 18.
Mandy then explained that she wasn’t wearing shoes on stage so she could feel the tempo and beat through the vibrations in the floor. She then sang an original song called “Try” which she explained the saying QUOTE – “after I lost my hearing, I gave up. But I want to do more with my life than just give up.”
Mandy received a standing ovation for her moving performance and Simon was so impressed that he gave her the golden buzzer which sends her straight to the live show.
Talk about an inspiration to never give up. Take a lesson from Mandy. When life hands you lemons, don’t just use them as decorations make some frickin lemonade! Definitely looking forward to the live show. What did you guys think about Mandy’s performance?
