Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the police will soon be releasing daily data on the number of accidents nationwide.

This he says, is part of government efforts to raise awareness of rising deaths on the road, after a total of 6,643 people died in road accidents last year.

He added, from the figure, 4,480 were motorcyclists, an average of 12 deaths a day, or one death in every two hours.
