Demi Lovato’s upcoming tour will offer inspirational therapy and group speeches for fans as an opening act.
How cool is that? A concert and a free therapy session on top of that? Um awesome.
Typically you go to concerts and have to sit through opening acts before the main artist makes their appearance. If you’re like me, you typically choose to skip the opening act because it’s not usually an artist I care to see but Demi Lovato is switching things up. As Lovatics know, Demi has battled bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and addiction so she has decided to tag team with CAST Centers, a treatment center and wellness program that she co-owns, to promote dialogue about mental health preceding her shows. Not only is she a co-owner of Cast but she’s also an alum so the project definitely hits close to home for her.
During her appearance on Good Morning America she gave more details and explained her motive behind offering the sessions along with her CAST Centers business partner Mike Bayer.
How cool is that? Demi offered something similar to fans during the Future Now tour and now she’s taking it on the road once again. Demi went on to say – “It'll be an incredible, very moving and inspiring experience. I want to do this because one, it was such an incredible experience the last time we did this on tour. I've actually met people that go to CAST because they went to CAST on tours and realized they needed to get sober or they needed to better themselves in some other way and it's changed lives and I want to be able to do that again. It's a part of my whole...life, about giving back and I think it's really important that I continue to do this while I'm on tour."
Demi has always advocated for mental health and normalizing it and letting people know that they are not alone so what a great idea to offer sessions like this on tour. Who doesn’t need therapy?
