If you were looking forward to seeing artists like Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Drake and more at this year’s Grammys, then you were probably disappointed because they weren’t there. Although some of them were boycotting, others were absent for different reasons. Let’s start with Justin Bieber! Justin was nowhere to be found at this year Grammys. He was nominated for four Grammys this year, but TMZ reported last month that he most likely would not be attended because “he just doesn't think the Grammys are relevant or representative, especially when it comes to young singers." Another artist who shares similar views is Kanye West who has made it clear that he wants to make the Grammys “culturally relevant” again. However, Kris Jenner revealed the real reason why her son-in-law was not present. She says, “The truth is he’s got a big fashion show in New York because it’s New York Fashion Week and my entire family is back there. Some of the kids are on their way tomorrow.” So looks like he just sacrificed going to the show for fashion. Speaking of fashion, if you blinked you might have missed Selena Gomez and The Weeknd make their official debut as a couple on the Grammys red carpet. Okay…even if you kept your eyes open, you still would’ve missed it because it didn’t happen. We were all hoping for them to slay the red carpet together, but unfortunately she did not attend. Oh well, maybe next time. Taylor Swift, who is known to party it up for the cameras in the audience was also missing, but she was not nominated at all this year so I guess it’s not that weird. We still kind of missed her though. One artist who walked the carpet and presented was Camila Cabello, but many were wondering where Fifth Harmony was. They didn’t receive any nominations, but it would have been interesting to see them cross paths with the now solo Cabello. Ariana Grande had a couple nominations under her belt, but we were shocked that the Dangerous Woman did not bless us with her presence. She was rumored to be performing, but she has a lot to focus on including her Dangerous Woman Tour. Last but not least, there was no shortage of Grammy nominations for Drake, but that’s not enough to get him to leave his WORLD TOUR. No seriously guys, he was performing at the Manchester Arena in England during the Grammys. We forgive you Drake, we understand you have to work, work, work, work work.
