The Grammys have always been a big deal in the music industry, but according to Justin Bieber, they’re totally irrelevant.
Let’s just say Justin isn’t the only musician who thinks the Grammys is an outdated award show.
Being nominated for a Grammy used to be a HUGE deal in an artist’s career, but apparently it just isn’t a cool thing any more. It is being reported by TMZ that Justin – who is nominated for four Grammys, by the way – isn’t planning on attending the award show on February 12th. A source close to the singer told the outlet that Justin simply doesn’t think the Grammys are relevant or representative of young singers and artists in the game.
Maybe being crushed up against the glass at the NHL All Star game over the weekend did a number on that noggin of his. Anyway, the source continued to say that there aren’t any hard feelings between JB and the Recording Academy, many young singers just echo Justin’s sentiments and believe the Grammys are out of touch and arguably irrelevant.
Aside from Justin, other huge stars like Kanye West, Frank Ocean, and Drake aren’t planning on showing up to the show for their own personal reasons. Honestly, the show is like two weeks away, so much can change in between now and then. But as of right now, TMZ revealed that the plan from all of these artists is to sit out for now.
Do you think that’s a good reason for Justin to not attend? Let me know in the comment section below and don’t forget to subscribe to Clevver News. Thanks for hanging with me, I’m your host Ryland Adams and I’ll see ya next time!
