Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi responded with a question today when asked by a reporter on whether he would be going on leave after being slapped with 45 charges.
The standard operating procedure (SOP) which requires senior Umno leaders to go on leave if they are charged in court apparently does not apply to its president.
This is because it only applies if the party is still part of the ruling government, according to Umno secretary-general Annuar Musa.
Annuar said such SOP is yet to be drafted since Umno became the opposition after its May 9 general election loss.
