Reporter files defamation suit against Guan Eng

A Chinese daily reporter has filed a defamation suit against Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng at the Penang High Court today.
Ong Beng Siang a reporter who has worked at Guang Ming Daily for 23 years said that his intention for the suit was to clear his name and to defend his dignity as well as those of his comrades in the profession.
His lawyer Baljit Singh said the suit was filed over Lim's allegations that Ong is unethical, unprofessional and is out to topple the Penang government.
Baljit said a letter of demand had been sent to Lim on March 6 but there has been no reply from the CM.
