The rise of dog attacks in the UK has been increasing dramatically over the past 30 years. We call ourselves a nation of dog lovers but as Wild Picture’s hard-hitting 2 part series graphically shows something is going wrong.
In Birmingham, Dog Warden Kelly Evans, who was hospitalized after a dog attack, fights to save a vicious Akita abandoned in squalid conditions. Remarkably the Akita, once removed from the squalid house reveals itself to be a friendly dog. The problems that Kelly sees in Birmingham are repeated across the country. In St Helen’s, dog warden Pauline is called to visit a pensioner who had to fight off her neighbour’s three Staffordshire Bull Terriers as they attacked her Shi Tzu dog in her kitchen.
