A mental health issue is often an invisible illness that indiscriminately strikes at the heart of a family. This groundbreaking documentary follows a number of families from across the UK to explore how they learn to cope with their child’s behavioural, emotional or clinical problems. In Episode 2 we follow the life of a 15-year-old girl living in the clutches of bulimia. In a desperate attempt to be thin, Hazel is sick up to 20 times a day and with the temptation to binge all around her, she can’t seem to escape the cycle of eating and vomiting. We also meet 12-year-old Lewis who has immersed himself in the silent world of photography, because his stammer means that talking is an internal battle - one which he constantly loses. Finally, we are introduced to 8-year-old Maddy whose aggressive behaviour, inability to make friends and constant defiance have threatened to pull her family apart.
