Today I get to a project that truly has me excited... I got my hands on a Donald Jenkins Rock Bouncer Cage! I scored this cage in a trade I did with my friend Luke. Luke was the one who had this cage painted Bright Neon Orange (its powder coated) .. and its remarkable. My camera has a hard time with the brightness of the cage, and under-exposes many of these shots. Luke was so super excited to see this build done well, and the first stage is to get the links and axles mounted. But, as I quickly discovered.. the links I have planned aren't quite the length I want. I would like the front axle to come out just a bit further.. and the Bully 2 Rock Crawler MOA (Motor on Axle) set that I have - well, lets just say the suspension link mount is just a tad too short. So - What can I do!? Look into new links .. or custom build some. But for the time being - I line up what I have so I can space out my wheel base the way I would like. Now, I would like to mention that the shocks I am using are NOT the shocks I want for the build.. but rather are used as a stand in for the final suspension choice. Also, the motors I have installed on the axles - are not the choice I want.. but serve as a good mock-up for the ones I want.
Come along with me, and discover what this rig has to offer in the coming weeks!
