Election commission chairperson Mohd Hashim Abdullah maintains that it is a non-political establishment that does not take sides when performing its duty of supervising the elections that take place in the country. Thus they should not be blamed or pulled into political skirmishes. He responded to critics by saying that they cannot be unfair if wealthy states can fall into the hands of the opposition.
