DPM: An interministerial task force to set up to monitor unregistered childcare centres

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said an interministerial task force will be set up to monitor unregistered childcare centres and minders operating at home, while the Child Care Centre Act 1984 will also be improved.
She said this is to help prevent the recurring case of deaths among children placed at the care of unregistered nannies.
The Women, Family and Community Development Minister said the Child Care Centre Act 1984 will also be improved to close loopholes involving babysitters operating at home.
She said this after launching the 70th anniversary of the Malaysian Youth Council here on Monday.
