Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today admitted that his predecessor and critic Najib Abdul Razak was gaining popularity on social media by coming up "with his own stories".
The Pakatan Harapan chairperson, however, dismissed the notion that Najib posed a threat to the coalition with what appeared to be a popular comeback particular during the recent Cameron Highlands by-election.
"It seems like he is gaining popularity on social media because he provides a lot of stories," said Mahathir told a press conference after chairing a Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting in Putrajaya.
He also dismissed the idea that Najib was a factor in BN's Camerons by-election victory.
