Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad jokingly said he will shoot Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng if the latter fails to achieve a surplus budget soon.
"We leave the financial matter to Lim Guan Eng because the Penang state government (under him) achieved surplus," he told a ceramah in Port Dickson last night.
Penang recorded surplus budgets since 2008 until today. For seven consecutive years since 2011, the state tabled deficit budgets but managed to turn them into surplus.
