Drama on "Sam & Cat" Set? Details

You know some sort of drama is brewing on a TV set when even Deadline's got the breakdown -- and today it looks like all that speculation about the future of Nickelodeon's Sam & Cat being shaky is pretty much being confirmed. We knew there was some sort of trouble when Jennette McCurdy did not attend last weekend's Kids Choice Awards and then later that night took to twitter to share her reasoning -- saying that it had nothing to do with her racy photos being leaked; that instead it was all about how Nickelodeon treated her. What exactly that treatment was related to, or how it went down was unknown.

And really, up until now, rumors of a show shutdown for Sam & Cat have been nothing more than that, just rumors. But my friends, where there's smoke, there's fire. Deadline reports that QUOTE "there has been talk about discord on set, with emotions running high." Both actresses have been busy beyond the show, too, and we hear the 40 episode season has been very grueling on everyone involved. FYI -- 40 episodes in one season of a show is roughly double what is normally done. Following Jennette's various tweets following the KCAs, speculation as to what exactly happened was all over the place --with some people even saying there must be some sort of rift between and Ariana. While sources close to both ladies say everything between the best friends is fine, TMZ reports that Jennette is upset that Ariana QUOTE "makes way more money than her and she's been trying to renegotiate her deal." No word from Nickelodeon as to whether or not this is true, but the network did speak out to say that there is nothing but the utmost respect for Jennette and her talent. Talent that has been with Nick for 7 years by the way! And for the record, Ariana's been with Nickelodeon for quite a long time, too -- over 4 years. And currently Sam & Cat is one of the most successful shows on the network -- really, it seems like a no brainer that there would be a second season.
