One Direction’s longtime producer and co-songwriter, Julian Bunetta spilled the beans on their upcoming album talking their new sound, whether or not this will be their last album, and if the mood in the studio has changed since Zayn’s departure.
Julian has worked with 1D from the beginning, and now he’s opening up about what Directioners can expect from their new album.
The new album, coming our way sometime this fall will be their fifth but will it also be their last? Julian addressed the dreaded question in an interview with EW telling them QUOTE - “They might take a year off and miss it. They might take a year off and say you know what, I need another year off. I think it’s important for them to have a relationship that isn’t strained by being gone all the time. It’s important for them to do whatever they want as individual men and not have to make a democratic decision for once.”
So basically, it’s not written in stone either way and it seems like it’s really just going to come down to how the boys feel when the time comes. But in the meantime, the good news is that we still have this album to look forward to! Yay!
Julian revealed that fans can expect a lot of new sounds including a little bit of experimentation with strings and horns saying QUOTE - “We’re stretching out outside of the perimeters of what a traditional pop boy band would do. We’re just kind of having fun. No rules. That’s what it’s been. “ He also revealed that there will be no guests on the album, just pure 1D gloriousness.
And then of course Julian addressed the elephant in the room when asked if the mood in the studio has changed at all now that there are four members instead of five saying QUOTE – “They still have the same attitudes. It’s not like it’s worse or better. It’s just the same guys, but there’s one missing. It just changes the dynamic regardless.”
Bitter sweet but no doubt good things to come for Zayn and 1D so what do you guys think about what Julian had to say about the upcoming album and the future of the group?
