Eight Penans including their leader Ngang Buling have been detained by police after they set up a blockade on an access road leading to the Murum dam.

About 80 cops including 40 FRU personnel were dispatched to arrest the villagers said to be involved in putting up blockades to protect against the impoundment of the dam.
