Indonesia will phase out sending domestic workers to Malaysia, who are more vulnerable to abuse and forced labour.
This is according to Indonesian ambassador to Malaysia, Hermono.
He said Indonesia will focus on sending its citizens to work in Malaysia’s formal sector instead.
Hermono said his country was not interested in sending large numbers of domestic workers to work in countries where labour abuses frequently went unpunished.
