During his policy speech at the opening of the Umno general assembly on Saturday night, Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi responded positively to calls by many delegates on the worrying trend of elected representatives quitting the party and joining its rival parties. He outlined measures such as having the Umno lawmakers to sign an "I Pledge" document to stop such trend.
