#KiniNews: Party leaders in unity govt sign 'historic' agreement to ensure political stability

[KiniNews] Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and other leaders of parties that are part of the current government have formally signed a memorandum of agreement today.

Aside from Anwar, BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor, Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Openg and Warisan president Mohd Shafie Apdal were present at the signing ceremony held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Putrajaya today.

Describing it as a historic moment in the country’s politics, Anwar said this cooperation has a clear direction in ensuring a stable government that focuses on good governance and developing the economy.

Anwar said they will also pay attention to the Malaysia Agreement 1963 as well as the development and policies of Sabah and Sarawak.

When asked whether the memorandum will ensure a stable and lasting government for the next five years, Anwar said he is “extremely encouraged” by the trust and commitment of the parties involved.
