[KiniNews] Regardless of DAP holding the most number of Parliament seats in the government, former Umno supreme council member Nazri Abdul Aziz said the prime minister and menteri besar positions have remained with the Malays.

As such, the former Padang Rengas MP said claims of Malays being "oppressed" under the administration, which also comprises DAP as part of the Pakatan Harapan coalition, was a lie.

"It’s difficult when racial issues are being played up, as it gives an impression that Islam is under siege and this sentiment will certainly benefit Perikatan Nasional. It’s 2023, enough already," he said.

Nazri said this when asked for comments on a PN narrative - particularly by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang - using DAP's alleged influence as ammunition to attack the government.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, Bersatu supreme council member Muhammad Faiz Na'aman has resigned as a member of the party.

He said he decided to quit due to irreconcilable differences.
