The willingness of former rivals to gather for the Unity Government Convention on Sunday was proof of their loyalty to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and country, said Johor DAP vice-chairperson Sheikh Omar Ali.

Sheikh Omar said the convention was a natural progression - following the decree by the Agong six months ago that a unity government be formed.

"The facts are clear. Perikatan Nasional refused to join the (unity) government as decreed. In other words, PN failed to understand and act based on the royal decree," said Sheikh Omar.
