Former Malaysian diplomat Muhammad Rizalman Ismail, who has been charged with sexual assault, is scheduled to be extradited from Kuala Lumpur on Friday night and arrive in New Zealand on Saturday morning.
According to a report on New Zealand portal stuff.co.nz, Rizalman will be accompanied by the Kiwi police on a flight leaving Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
He will arrive in New Zealand on Saturday morning, where he will face the charge after returning back to Malaysia, five months ago.
Rizalman, who was the military attache with the Malaysian High Commission in New Zealand, was charged with sexually assaulting Tania Billingsley, 22, earlier this year after breaking into her home.
He returned to Malaysia on May 22, after the government refused to waive his diplomatic immunity, resulting in an uproar in New Zealand.
