Kuantan MP Wan Razali Wan Nor highlighted the issue of women nurses' uniforms being too tight and not compliant with shariah standards during his debate on the Health White Paper in the Dewan Rakyat.

He questioned whether the dress code for women nurses could be more relaxed and less Westernised.

Wan Razali cited examples of hospitals like Hospital USM Kubang Kerian and Sultan Ahmad Shah Kuantan Medical Centre, where women staff are allowed to wear "more suitable" attire.

Temerloh MP Salamiah Mohd Nor later expressed support for the shariah-compliant dressing etiquette suggested by Wan Razali, particularly for health workers.
