Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Parliament and Institutional Reforms) Azalina Othman Said said there's no rush to table the Freedom of Information Act, as current laws are sufficient.
In her response in the Dewan Rakyat today, Azalina said that they have to also consider amending the Official Secrets Act 1972 (OSA) to pave the way for the FOIA.
She said because of this, there may be insufficient time to do it this year and the proposed FOIA Bill could be tabled in Parliament next year.
