The government will loosen interstate travel regulations in the midst of the conditional movement control order (MCO) to allow working spouses to reunite with their families.

In a live address today, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said this will enable parents working in separate states and who have been unable to see their families for close to two months due to travel restrictions to do so.

"On interstate travel, I am told there are husband-wife pairs who live apart due to work. For example, a husband is working in Perlis while his wife is in Johor. Due to the interstate travel ban, there are husbands who are unable to meet their wives and children for over two months.

"So the government has decided to give leeway to husbands or wives to travel to meet with their families.
