An Umno leader has challenged MACC to reopen investigations into reports filed against Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to prove its independence.
Lokman Adam said this was in line with MACC's new chief commissioner Mohd Shukri Abdull's pledge to act in a free, transparent and professional manner.
He was accompanied by Jaringan Melayu Malaysia president Azwandin Hamzah.
They had submitted a 12-point memorandum with a list of past reports made against Mahathir.
Without delving into details, Lokman said some of the reports were lodged by then opposition leaders including Anwar Ibrahim, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Lim Guan Eng.
