DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng honoured DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang in his speech at the party's national congress today.

Lim said Kit Siang has been regarded by some as the best prime minister Malaysia would never have.

On a personal note, Lim also said his family is jealous of the time the party has taken away from Kit Siang.

Lim also fought back tears as his dedicated a poem to his father at the end of his speech.

Kit Siang announced his retirement from politics today.

The DAP veteran said he will not contest for any party position in today's DAP congress or any parliamentary or state assembly seat in the future.
