Bagan MP Lim Guan Eng has questioned if members of parliament should be the first to get the Covid-19 vaccine in Malaysia to give the public confidence on the safety of the vaccine.
Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the government would take it into consideration and an announcement will be made later.
He said there were two schools of thoughts on the issue, those who are hesitant would want politicians to be vaccinated first and would take it themselves if there were no problems.
Whereas those who are confident about the vaccines would prefer others being prioritised and politicians getting vaccinated last.
