Hailey Baldwin OPENS UP About Current Relationship With Ex Justin Bieber

Just because Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin were super good friends before they started dating doesn’t mean they were the exception to that awkward post-breakup feeling. In fact, Hailey opened up to UK newspaper The Times and revealed that her friendship and relationship with Justin actually changed when they both made the mutual decision to end things romantically and just be friends.
She explained QUOTE, “Justin and I were friends for a long time. I met him when I was really young and he was one of my best friends. Everybody knows that at a certain point in time that turned into something else, but that just happens when you’re 18, 19. It was what it was. We went through a long period of time when we weren’t friends. We didn’t speak for quite some time and there was a lot of weirdness that went on [but] we’ve moved past that.”
Hailey then went on to say that while being a part of a high-profile relationship was super weird, the whole experience made them both realize how great their platonic friendship is. She said QUOTE, “…it brought both of us to the realization that we just work much better as friends. He’s somebody I really cherish. Now it’s a very mature situation. It’s good.”
Well, now that the mystery behind Justin and Hailey’s post-breakup relationship has been solved, it’s time to settle those are-they-aren’t-they dating speculations between Hailey and Shawn Mendes.
Just a recap for those of you who’ve been out of the gossip game for a hot minute, it’s been widely rumored that Hailey and Shawn are an item and of course, those dating speculations were supposedly confirmed when the two attended the MET Gala together.
However, fans who ship Shailey were in for a great disappointment because after the MET Gala, Shawn told E! News that he’s currently single. And now, Hailey is echoing the same sentiments.
In the same interview we mentioned earlier with The Times UK, Hailey opened up about her relationship with Shawn and sadly, it’s super platonic. She said QUOTE, “We hang out and he’s super-lovely and a very, very nice young gentleman. But I am single. The dating pool is small. It’s rare to find somebody that has the same ideas and morals as me. I have found people like that before, though, which is refreshing.”
Well, I guess that’s that!
