PAS spiritual leader Hashim Jasin has has defended Perikatan Nasional's candidate for the Sungai Bakap by-election Abidin Ismail over a controversy surrounding his academic qualifications of Abidin Ismail.
Hashim said academic qualifications are important, but in Islam, other more valuable qualities are one’s trustworthiness and responsibility.
He added that he was confident that the Sungai Bakap voters will judge PN's candidate based on his noble values.
