PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hasan has urged Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail to explain alleged contradictions between his decision to exempt Umno from a law that could see the party getting deregistered and a Registrar of Societies letter to the party on the matter.

While debating Budget 2023, Takiyuddin said he sighted the alleged letter from ROS to Umno that stated it had found irregularities in an additional motion passed during the party's general assembly last year which approved for the Umno president and deputy president’s posts not to be contested this time around.
