Harapan de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim said today while he is principally against the move to ban books, exceptions should be made for certain titles including British author Salman Rushdie's 1988 novel, “The Satanic Verses”.
He said he was not keen towards book banning, with a few exceptions such as ‘The Satanic Verses,' those that mock, condemn religion, the Prophet or Islam.
