Users Praise Bumble For Banning THIS From the App

Yes, the announcement comes weeks after the school shooting that took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida on February 14, and many users are applauding Bumble for implementing this new rule.
One user tweeted: Bumble expels anyone who uses hate speech, has a 0 tolerance harassment policy, regularly removes trolls, and is now banning images of guns.
Weird how the only female CEO of a major social platform has the guts to do what Twitter and Facebook won’t.
Those are some FIGHTING words! Looks like it’s your move, Zuckerberg.
Speaking of Bumble’s CEO, Whitney Wolfe Herd spoke to the New York Times about the decision saying quote:
“We just want to create a community where people feel at ease, where they do not feel threatened, and we just don’t see guns fitting into that equation.”
Again, another slow clap.
So, with over 30 million users, you might be wondering how exactly they’ll get daunting task done. Well, according to Mashable, to enforce the policy, QUOTE “Bumble has instructed a team of 5,000 contractors to proactively remove photos with guns from users' profiles.”
And to clarify, the users themselves won’t be banned from using the app, just the photos will be removed.
Also, just in case all this wasn’t enough, Bumble has also donated $100,000 to March For Our Lives, the nationwide protest against gun violence that’s going down on March 24.
