Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Pakatan Harapan will campaign as a united coalition even if it is not recognised by the Registrar of Societies (ROS) as a formal coalition.
Mahathir joked that in the worst-case scenario, in the event Bersatu is deregistered, he is even willing to contest as a DAP candidate.
ROS announced last Friday that it has given Bersatu 30 days to respond to its queries and present the necessary documents - or face deregistration.
ROS director-general Surayati Ibrahim said the notice was issued following complaints by Bersatu members and therefore the data was required to complete its investigations.
Previously, ROS told Harapan that its application could not be processed because the ROS was still awaiting a report from the Bersatu annual general meeting and the party's annual returns.
