Pakatan Harapan lawmaker Hassan Abdul Karim has lambasted the government for removing the generational endgame (GEG) component from the revised version of the Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Bill.
The Pasir Gudang MP said if it was deemed unconstitutional, then the matter should be argued in court, rather than have the attorney-general act like a gatekeeper.
He also expressed disappointment that the government had voluntarily withdrawn the GEG clause without putting up a fight.
