Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador assured family members of the 12 detainees with alleged links to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) that they are well cared for and asks for them to be patient as police continue with investigations.
The Inspector-General of Police said he sympathises with the family members and understands they would like to spend Deepavali together but defended the arrests of the 12 for national security reasons.
Abdul Hamid said that after officiating at the Police Sports Day Award Ceremony at the Malaysia Police Training Centre on Tuesday (Oct 22).
