The Better Beer Festival 2017 was scrapped as there was information that certain parties were planning to create havoc at the event. This was confirmed by inspector-general of police Mohamad Fuzi Harun in a statement today.
He said there was information that militants were planning to commit sabotage at the festival, as they believe it was against their struggles.
There was also intelligence which showed there were parties out there who were planning to create havoc during the festival, which would create a situation concerning security. He added that the PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) acted proactively by putting a stop to the event, in the interest of public safety and security.
