The Inspector-General of Police said the Special Action Unit protection detail for former premier and now opposition leader Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad would be increased if there was a security threat. The police have recently scaled down personnel to protect him.
The IGP also said the police would claim the body of IS militant Dr Mahmud Ahmad who was killed in the Philippines last month.
