IGP: We will beef up UTK protection for Mahathir if needed

Police will beef up the Special Action Unit (UTK) personnel for Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad if the need arises, said the police chief today.
Inspector-general of police Mohamad Fuzi Harun reiterated that the bodyguard service provided by the UTK to Mahathir was only scaled down.
"It depends on the threat. If we think there is a serious threat against him, we will beef up the number of personnel and provide the necessary security.
"Currently, even his wife has a female UTK officer attached to her (and we also) monitor his home," Fuzi told a press conference at the UTK training unit in Cheras today.
