Lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah has expressed shock over the High Court in Kuala Lumpur's decision to allow attorney-general Tommy Thomas' application for a discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) over three money laundering charges against Najib Abdul Razak.
In his submission earlier, Thomas said on Jan 28, there was an argument on whether there should be a joinder with the other charges.
"In a move to assist the court and avoid troubling your lordship for a ruling on the point, I propose not to proceed on those three charges before this court.
"I, therefore, seek an order of DNAA from your lordship on those three charges," he said.
Thomas added that Najib would be charged over the three counts of money laundering before the Sessions Court on a later date.
