I don’t know about you, but after Shane Dawson‘s recent docu-series about Jake Paul, I actually had a little bit of hope that the YouTuber would start toning down his crazy behavior. But today is yet another drama-filled day for the YouTube star, who is now being sued for allegedly forging his friend’s name on the lease to his house and then — wait for it — completely destroying the place.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Max Goodrich says he and Jake once considered moving in together, but ultimately, Max backed out. The documents also claim that Jake continued to use his former pal’s name and good credit score in order to land him the rental property, even though Max wasn’t living there, which is obviously so wrong and SO illegal.
The people who Jake rented the house from are now taking legal action against both him and Max for QUOTE “leaving the place in ruins,” all thanks to the youngest Paul brother’s wild pranks and antics.
But the drama doesn’t end there! Max has filed his own lawsuit against Jake, claiming that the YouTuber committed fraud against him. According to Max, his name never should’ve been on the lease in the first place, and that’s why he’s calling for Jake to cover any and all of the damages listed in the homeowner’s lawsuit.
However, TMZ later reported that a source close to Jake has now told them that the social media star never forged Max's signature. The source said his signature is actually nowhere on the lease at all ... he was only listed as a potential tenant. According to the source the actual tenant is 10 Digit Media. So Jakes camp is basically saying any claim that Goodrich was used for his good credit is fake news.
Jake has been sued multiple times in the past all because of his over-the-top pranks for his YouTube channel. Earlier this year, he was hit with a $2.5 million lawsuit for destroying yet another property he rented back in 2016. A few months before that, a man sued him for causing hearing damage by blaring his car horn at him during a prank. And then I can’t forget about the time Jake’s manager got sued because he and the rest of the Team 10 crew destroyed a house in Aspen, Colorado and put the footage on YouTube.
As I mentioned before, I was really starting to believe in a brighter future for Jake, especially because he was so honest and vulnerable in Shane’s documentary! Nonetheless, I hope he handles these lawsuits promptly and owns up to his mistakes. Maybe then he will officially be able to move on and put his crazy antics behind him. Do you think Jake forged the signature? And do you think it’s possible for him to change? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below! I’m your host Sussan Mourad thanks for watching!
