Jimmy Fallon is back with another hilarious spoof, but this time he’s taking the mystery of Riverdale and applying it to Charlie Brown for a Peanuts parody unlike any other.

If you thought the darkest thing to come out of the Charlie Brown cartoon was Lucy pulling the football away from him, you thought very wrong. Kicking off with a narration, similar to Jughead Jones’ beginning monologue each episode, Jimmy prefaces the spoof with a spot-on impression of the town.
Following a football game depicting Lucy’s savagery where she pulls the football away from Charlie, the real mystery begins when Marcie and Peppermint Patty wander through the Great Pumpkin Patch where they find a dead Linus, sucking his thumb in typical Linus fashion.
Fallon takes another hit at Riverdale when his character writes a song about Linus’ death, just like Archie Andrews has done multiple times within the show. Charlie Brown is also portrayed as having an affair with his teacher, Mrs. Othermar, and the two were even there on the day of Linus’ mysterious death… sounding familiar yet?
The parody goes on to make even more jabs at the fact that none of these characters look or act like they’re just 16 years old, Lucy quote-unquote “hating” Charlie Brown even though she secretly loves him, and the fact that a high school junior is taking on the duties of a specially-trained crime scene investigator.
But there’s nothing that a high school prom and Charlie Brown’s iconic dance moves can’t fix. The clip ends with Fallon doing the Snoopy Dance at prom as the REAL stars of Riverdale walk past the gym.
What a perfect ending to yet another hilarious Fallon sketch – and is it just me or is anyone else dying to go watch A Charlie Brown Christmas now?
