The Road Transport Department (JPJ) and nine city councils will be empowered to deregister and remove abandoned cars.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said this will be done after amendments to the Road Transport Act are made.
The amendments will also empower JPJ to regulate and collect fees on approvals for glass tinting of vehicles, and to deregister cars where the chassis numbers have been tampered with.
