The government has ordered local councils to revoke the licences of hotel operators who bar their Muslim staff from wearing headscarves.
This was announced by Housing, Local Government and Urban Well-being Minister Noh Omar.
The spotlight fell on the hotel industry after reports surfaced of Muslim staff being instructed not to wear headscarves at the front desk in certain hotels.
